New Japan ran their June 13th rally at Korakuen Hall, claiming 1,861 paid. Results:
** This show will not air in full in Japan until 7/12 on ESPN-i at 9 PM-11 PM JST.
1. BOSJ XI Tournament Finals Round 1: Koji Kanemoto defeated Ultimo Dragon in 5 minutes, 30 seconds with a La Magistral cradle.
2. BOSJ XI Tournament Finals Round 1: Heat defeated Masahito Kakihara in 12 minutes, 52 seconds with the HEAT Clutch.
3. Makai Mask #1, Ryushi Yanagisawa, & Mitsuya Nagai defeated Toru Yano, Tatsutoshi Goto, & Hiro Saito in 5 minutes, 33 seconds by disqualification when Yano beat up the referee.
4. Ryusuke Taguchi & Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Rocky Romero & Minoru Suzuki in 14 minutes, 2 seconds when Taguchi used a German Suplex Hold on Romero for the win.
5. BOSJ XI Tournament Semi-Finals: Koji Kanemoto defeated American Dragon in 13 minutes, 34 seconds with the heel-and-knee lock (modified ankle lock). Throughout the night, Kanemoto used the famous "face wash" spot in his matches and used virtually every move in his offensive skill set he had.
6. BOSJ XI Tournament Semi-Finals: Tiger Mask IV defeated Heat in 15 minutes, 14 seconds with a backslide.
7. Yutaka Yoshie, Hiroshi Tanahashi, & Yuji Nagata went to a no-contest in 11 minutes, 15 seconds with Manabu Nakanishi, Gen'ichiro Tenryu, & Masa Chono. The main angle of this match was Manabu Nakanishi becoming a lone wolf and turning on his partners (Tenryu & Chono) by giving them lariats. The crux of the match was Nakanishi and Nagata hitting each other as hard as they could. Nakanishi proclaimed that he would destroy New Japan by himself.
8. Katsuyori Shibata & Kazunari Murakami defeated Osamu Nishimura & Hiroyoshi Tenzan in 10 minutes, 11 seconds when Shibata pinned Nishimura. Finish saw Shibata & Murakami both soccer-ball kick Nishimura repeatedly until Shibata took the cover and the three count.
9. BOSJ XI Finals: Tiger Mask IV (B Block #1) defeated Koji Kanemoto (A Block #3 representative) in 11 minutes, 26 seconds with a Tiger Suplex Hold. Finishing sequence saw TM IV apply a chicken-wing face lock on Kanemoto, which made the crowd babyface Kanemoto by calling out his name in a chant. After a rope-break, TM IV did a moonsault and went back into the face lock, then went into a Tiger Suplex Hold for the win.
** Jushin Liger was not involved in the tournament elimination matches on the show (he was part of the A Block) due to a back sprain that required three weeks of rest. Therefore, Kanemoto took his place.
Well dare I say it this look’s like it’s been one hell of a tournament. I’m quite interested to see how this one plays out on VHS and I wouldn’t mind seeing the full tour, Meaning every single show.
It’s a shame about Daniels being side lined with an Injury, IMO he’ll be back soon, but Super J is where you show case what exactly you can do. It’s a dam shame he got put out, as I wouldn’t have minded seeing him going further in the tournament. Shame American Dragon never really got past 4 points in this tournament as I wouldn’t have minded seeing him advance.
I don’t think I can pin point all the good match’s on this as there look to be a few. So I’ll go straight to the last show. Tiger mask IV/Koji final look’s to be good, I’d expect some great wrestling in this one. Its worthy of being a final yet I think that the time of the match could have been a little bit longer.
Thoughts?

Thoughts?
