HULK HOGAN is just days away from launching his own wrestling federation, The Sun can exclusively reveal.

The legendary former WWE champion claims he and ex-WCW supremo Eric Bischoff are currently in discussions to take on his old boss Vince McMahon head-to-head.

He revealed: “Last night me and Eric were getting ready to sign a deal with one of the TV networks here in America.

“We had a little bit of a problem with the licensing and merchandising, which has delayed it.

“But I totally expect we’re going to sign the TV portion of this very soon, because there’s no point in starting any sort of wrestling organisation without the TV locked in place.

“Now we’re just arguing among the lawyers on how to protect the brand and the image and make sure it’s a fair deal for everybody.

“Once we’ve wrapped the TV up we’ll make the official announcement. The network want to make a really big deal of it.”

Hulk added: “The basic idea will be the same as WWE, but I pray to god it’s nothing like what’s on TV now.

“I’m a fan, but it is pretty boring programming. It’s watered down and unexciting, and the viewer doesn’t have any option except to have it shoved down his throat.

“We’re going to have a lot of back story for viewers to understand why these people are doing what they're doing.

“It won’t be family members in the back writing storylines on things they know nothing about.”

Hogan does face one massive hurdle in building his own wrestling group – most of America’s top grapplers are already under contract to WWE, TNA or ROH.

But he maintains: “There are a lot of unhappy campers in the WWE and there are also a new breed of wrestlers that Vince McMahon hasn’t explored yet, that we have.

“And I’m in better shape than I have been for about 10 years.”

Wrestling is just one of many projects for Hulk.

He is the host of the hugely successful American Gladiators remake, has a range of branded products in the shops and is now even the face of the £3.5million FLW Fantasy Fishing game.

So with a second series of Gladiators on the books, and lots of money rolling in, does The Hulkster really want to face the trials and tribulations of the wrestling business once again?

The answers is a resounding 'yes'.

He insists: “Wrestling is in my blood. It will always be a part of my life in some way.”

As Hulk rushed off to call his TV network, we asked what Vince McMahon’s views on his plans were.

“I have no idea what Vince thinks or knows about all of this,” Hogan replied.

“I don’t speak to him.”

Personally can't wait to see how he handles this. Not many fans of Hogan nowadays but judging from his interview, he seems really intent on bringing back a product people want to watch. Interesting to see he's associating with Bischoff, too. I thought he was still under WWE contract?

I think you'll find that Eric Bischoff's book is under a WWE deal, and that he's getting additional royalties etc for going through WWE's book division. That said, it's possible that he is (I think that on his own, Bischoff could probably book half-decently. He's a prick, but he could still book half-decently.) I'm interested to see hos it works.. we'll just all see, I guess. Not too much to talk about before they even, say, announce a roster.

“And I’m in better shape than I have been for about 10 years.”

All credibility this venture might have had just went out the window with that statement. Anyone wanna script the first month of shows? - Hogan comes out in his usual gear, does the same spiel and promises that this fed will be 'different' from what else is on offer. Some cocky heel that he manages to sign up (Chris Masters?) comes out and tells Hogan that he's past it. Hogan can't believe the arrogance and suggests that next week, he can have first shot at winning the new World Title but only if he can beat me!
Next week, Hogan takes a beating but pulls it round at the last minute and walks away with a shiny new belt round his waist. Here comes the new fed - same as the old fed.

Yeah you're right, Hogan. That Hardy/Orton fued wasn't exciting at all.

One storyline can't define a company. But if you want a list of exiting storylines:

Jeff/Orton
Bastard Son
DX vs. McMahons
Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy
Ric Flairs current thing.
Save Us 222

Eh, thats all I got. But still, there are obviously a lot of storylines that should be mentioned as exiting but WWE doesn't invest enough time into them. Cryme Tyme is a good example.

Hogan and Bischoff both know wrestling, and being inside the company for so long, they should have a good handle on things. They know what people like to see, and they should know what to do in certain situations. The only reason this would flop, I believe, is if people's hatred for Hogan stops them from tuning in to even check it out. But that didn't stop American Gladiators from being a pretty successful remake

or you know. if hogan wants to be king of the mountain and not make anyone new. as well as Eric going back to his old ways that sure got them ratings for awhile but eventually made them flop dead.

I see that happening if this does happen. Eric doing dirty old tricks that dont work, and Hogan wanting to be king of the world like in WCW.
and maybe even a little WSX style extra fake that no one wants to see even if the wrestlers are talented.

I might keep an eye and an ear out. but im likly to watch to see if it fails more then its good.

Hey if it means a new wrestling fed on TV then I am all for it because it would be nice to have a choice outside of the WWE and TNA which I would still watch just as I do now.

Yes. And we all love watching you return every few months and destroying everyone you meet. We all love hearing "Hulkamania has been unleashed!!" from J.R about 500 times.. We all love watching you take 20 minutes to do one pose.

Well Hogan talks about a new league every year. He had XWF, which failed. And Bischoff is an overrated booker.

With that said, competitionis good, and TNA is not cutting it.

As thought, the rumored Hulk Hogan/Eric Bischoff promotion has turned out to be false, but not completely. Instead of a traditional wrestling promotion the pair are working on a "Celebrity Wrestling" show, a concept first done in the UK with Joe Legend and D'Lo Brown.

The idea is to take celebrities and put them through several wrestling/gladiator style challenges. This new American version is thought to have more of a Tough Enough element than the UK show which flopped big time.

Both Hogan and Bischoff are using their TV contacts to get a deal with a big network. I'd assume VH-1.

So, Celebrity Gladiator??

For weeks we've been hearing that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are on the verge of launching a new celebriy pro wrestling TV project. We can now confirm that the series has been picked up by cable TV channel CMT and has a name - "Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Wrestling."

The first season will be 8 episodes and then a live 2-hour finale. Filming will begin for the series around June or July in the Los Angeles area. The casting search has begun for "adventurous celebrities" that will train for pro wrestling and can settle their scores in the ring.

No word yet on when the series will debut, but based on the filming schedule, a fall premiere makes sense. Hulk Hogan and Bischoff-Hervey Productions are listed as producers for the series.

I am interested to see how the show works but ultimatly I see it being shit.

Wrestling content in the UK version was virtually nil so *suckage alert!....suckage alert!*

I'd like to see Hogan in UFC. In fact, I really really want to see that.

It will never happen and if it ever did all of the guys on the roster would probably be Hogan's friends.

Who are all old, washed-up, balding, ugly, fat, weird and useless.

No, wait! Hogan said that his son Nick would earn more than The Rock, Steve Austin and Triple H ever did in their careers. Don't worry guys, Nick Hogan to the rescue!

*rolls eyes*

It's not even a fed, it's a dumb reality show where Hogan will train celebrities to be wrestlers. Retarded.

-- Hulk Hogan's "Wrestling with the Stars" show has struck a deal with a cable television network. The reality show will be airing on CMT, the Country Music Television channel.

LMAO as if it wasn't going to fail already :). Why CMT? Is that even a popular station in the states?

I don't know how popular it is, but I do know that for some reason CMT did a Hogan Knows Best marathon one day and I have no idea why.

CHRISTIAN ROCK! CHRISTIAN ROCK!

Just for the record.. I don't actually count this as a 'federation'. Nor 'wrestling', any more. If this is a 'federation', then Tough Enough was a 'federation'. The only thing I'm interested in is to see if Hulk's going to work the crap outta the celebs or not. (I mean, will he actually try to give them a fitness regime like the real big boys would do, or would it just.. uh.. well, "GRR, FALL DOWN NOW!")

What exactly can Hogan teach? Flex, punch, boot, legdrop?

Actually, I've seen some really awesome Japanese stuff where he had purely chain wrestling matches with, of all people, Andre the Giant. He's a fully trained wrestler, it's just that he spent the majority of his career using a schtick that he knew worked. See: Cena.
