“When the World Ends” by Dave Matthews & Paul Oakenfold plays over the speakers at the uCw Arena, and out walks Ivan Drago. He’s dressed in his ring attire-red trunks with a black V outlined in white on the back, taped hands and wrists, black knee-pads, and black boots. He stops on the stage and poses, the extremely defined muscles of his upper body flexing with the slightest movement. Expressionless, he walks down to the ring and climbs over the top rope. He grabs a microphone and speaks over the crowd’s boos.
DRAGO:
Last week, on Saturday Morning Mayhem, I broke another one of the uCw’s “charity cases” right here in the middle of this ring. He was certainly more talented then the children that have been thrust into the ring with me lately, but still a waste of my energy. After I pinned him, this happened.
Video of the lights going out, and the mystery-man speaking over the PA system plays. The camera then cuts back to the ring as chants of “D-Dogg, D-Dogg” break out. Drago is unfazed.
DRAGO”
It was then, that I had an epiphany. This is what the uCw respects. You don’t respect simple dominance. You don’t respect a juggernaut like me. You respect THAT (pointing at the Tron where the Mystery Man’s video played)! You respect darkness, the shadows. You respect…FEAR! You respect terror and destruction! After that, my purpose became plain to me. I came to this federation with the thought of destroying the one man who had taken everything from me. I aligned myself with the True Kings in order to achieve that goal. You don’t know who that is? The clues are there, but not yet. He is not ready. I have…smelled what he is. I know him better than he knows himself. The dents are forming in the armor, but it is not ready for the killing blow yet. But I digress. I came to this federation with one thought, one purpose in mind. I see now, that I was short-sighted. I was…selling myself short. Like I said, my purpose has now become clear. My purpose is to destroy, not just HIM, but everything, everyone. As soon as I am finished with HIM, the Culling will begin. A period in which every superstar will be tested as to fitness and only the strong will survive. The rest will be destroyed, trimmed from the herd so to speak. But you all have time, except for Unleashed, who has the…misfortune of having to face his test this Monday. I have tried to study this man, but my efforts have come up a little short. I have seen him in action against the so-called “Terminator”, but that is all. I have no insight into his motives, his reasoning. Therefore, I will have to treat this match the same as I have every match before it-with contempt. I will turn this man into another quivering mass of fear and terror. I will break him as easily as a child breaks a new piece of electronic equipment. Only I will know exactly what I’m doing.
DRAGO:
Before I leave however, I want to send a message to this so-called “Mystery Man”. You had the audacity to interrupt one of my matches with a message for the True Kings, that was, no doubt, meant to strike fear in the hearts of us. Unfortunately for you, you did not do your homework. For Ivan Drago fears no man. That being said, let me issue a warning to you: do not underestimate the power of the True Kings, especially now that I am here. If you do, you will end up in the same state as that pretty wife of yours-broken.
“When the World Ends” plays and Drago gets out of the ring. No one looks him in the eye as he makes his way to the back, but they sure boo a lot.
