When roleplaying....

What inspires you? Real life events, something you saw in The Godfather part 2 around the 45 minute mark? Something you heard in a song? Or do you just think up stuff as you write? For me its all of those rolled into one really, like n my latest RP, the one with Jak being chased in a farm....real life, that happend to me and a friend last Sunday (obviously not the shotgun part). Other times I listen to music, when I RP I like to listen to the beatles, they fill my head with ideas for some reason. Anyway, how about all of you, maybe I could get some tips aswell...

Well I listen to some music to get a good start. Then I start to write and as I do I just come up with stuff as I go along. I try to double check my stuff just to make sure. That's it pretty much.

What type of music? And how does it help you?

Well I listen to anything that sounds good. Preferably Rap and classical and Techno. Yes... I said Techno... (Waits for verbal attack)... oh ok good. It helps me get in a good mood. Sometimes I'm lazy but the music just stops all the laziness and it gets all the work done. The music also (Don't ask me how) makes me type faster. I guess it's some special force.

Seriously. Back when I had the weirdo gimmick in PCW my random RP's were based on my dreams for that week. Dreams are the most random thing we do, they are controlled by our sub-concious. So they are the perfect frame for a random RP.

When engeance used to be crazy I would watch Hellsing,best vampire anime ever,but now I just listen to music.

It usually depends on how big the match is. Usually in a huge match (a PPV, title match, match against a 5 Star superstar, etc.) I'll search for a song with lyrics that match the mood I want the rp to have. Then I'll use the rest of the song to inspire myself for the rp. Also, if I have a match that'll affect Forsaken's past or personality, I'll usually take a real life event and blow it ridiculously out of porportion. (Losing a parent became Forsaken's parents being burned alive when he was 8) In a smaller match though I'll just make it up, and maybe throw in some quotes, scenes, personalities, just things that stick out in my favorite anime/tv/movies.

I always try to know what the message is before i start writing, then build in everything round that. The setting, the dialogue, the characters that are present, it all revolves around the message i want to put across. Then there are other times where i don't have a clue what i want to say, but know something else, like a setting, or an interaction with another character and i work from that point and build round it. Then there are times when i dont have a clue about anything and just start writing and see what comes out, like i did with my last RP for the Florida title, and i think that was my best RP in that thread. It all depends, everyine is different and different things will stimulate them, so build on what works for you.

If you're 100% confident of who your wrestler is, i'd suggest matching him to a more main name wrestler and watching some of their promos to see if that helps. That should let you know how your cahracter should be coming across, the kind of things he will say and all that stuff. Never done it myself, as Parker is based a lot on me and not a wrestler, but it might work for some of you.
