The scene opens to a podium surrounded by news reporters. Kayne Risen slowly steps over to the microphone and sits down. He is instantly pummeled with questions, which he ignores, and then begins to speak.
"I'm sure many people are wondering why I've called this press conference today and I'm about to answer that. I have called you all here to announce my official retirement from professional wrestling..."
Kayne takes a breath, then resumes.
"I can't say it hasn't been a hell of a time. I've been in the business for a few years now and I've seen a lot of things. I've done my best over that time to make an impact and feel I've left a decent mark on the world of pro wrestling. I just don't believe at this time, that I have what it takes to compete in this evolving sport any further.
"I'd like to wish the best of luck to the remaining WPW superstars, including some guys that I've called friends over the years and have had a couple of rough patches with lately. I guess there's not much left to say, except that I'm gonna miss this place like hell, and if I ever decide there might be a time when I can come back and compete, then I hope the door is open. Thank you."
Kayne steps down from the podium and walks out of the room, reporters buzzing around him.
