We did this in a past fed and I think it can be very helpful to everyone as long as people participate in the process. It functions as something of a more long term version of the rp feedback thread. Each week (or possibly more frequently depending on how quick people are) we would take a couple of rpers and give them overall evaluations on how they have been doing so far in WPW.
I think the worst part of this group is that we fail to really pick eachother up and improve as a whole. It seems we are all too often overly concerned with our own agendas and I think in the end we all miss out on oppurtunities to improve. I have noticed that whenever people have questions about losses, it is taken as just more complaining, why we writers cannot tell a person WHY we picked a match to go the way it did, I am not sure. By that I mean really being able to say why we chose the winner we did and not saying "his rps were better" but saying "this is why his rps were better." Getting feedback on what works and what does not can do great things for people. I honestly believe that one of the main reasons that Dan Murph has improved as much as he did, is because he constantly asks people about how he can do better outside the forums.
In the evaluations you would look at the following four categories. Please be as thorough as you can be as the more you tell other people, the more they can learn and the more they will be inclined to help you.
Character Analysis: Let the person know what you think of the character, step one would be to define the character, do not just say what is in the sign up, but what impression do you get based on how the character is portrayed.
Roleplaying Analysis: Typically this will be the most important part of the evaluation as this is where you can tell a person what you think they do well, and what they can improve. Do not be afraid to make suggestions to people on improvements they can make, you could be a Live jobber and see something you do not like in a main eventer, and you could be right. Please do not use this as a way to bury somebody though, constructive criticism, and remember to look at the writing here, not the person. If you think somebody has a strenth they can utilize more, please let them know about it.
Personal Suggestions: If you have any ideas you think would help the rper, put them here. You may not agree with anybody else's suggestions, but that is fine.
Overall Attitude: This should be fairly self explanatory, this is where you give your thoughts on the attitude of the rper. If you think somebody is too laid back, if they seem really vested in WPW, or anything else, let them know.
The promo preference survey failed, and I hope the same does not happen with this. If anybody wants to see another category added, please suggest it. Also please sign up to be evaluated as I want to start this as soon as possible. Be aware evaluations will be done in public threads. Sometimes a suggestion you make to one person, could actually benefit multiple individuals as well.
Thank you, and I hope everyone takes advantage of this.
